Sunstream Green Energy Pvt. Ltd. has appointed Mitish Somani as its Chief Financial Officer (CFO), bringing nearly three decades of experience in capital raising, financial management and infrastructure finance to the company’s leadership team.
Somani is a Chartered Accountant with extensive experience across the energy and infrastructure sectors. Over the course of his career, he has been involved in raising and structuring more than ₹18,000 crore in capital for large-scale energy and infrastructure projects.
Prior to joining Sunstream Green Energy, Somani served as Director Finance at Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), a Denmark-based renewable energy investment fund. In this role, he was responsible for managing finance for the fund’s operations in India, providing him with experience in renewable energy investment, financial planning and capital management.
Somani has also held senior finance leadership positions at Avaada Group, Thermax Limited and Essar Group. His professional experience spans capital raising, financial structuring and financial management for large energy and infrastructure businesses.
At Sunstream Green Energy, his appointment adds financial and capital-markets expertise to the company’s leadership team as it works toward its 1 GW platform ambition. The role is expected to involve supporting the company’s financial strategy and capital requirements as it develops and expands its energy portfolio.
Somani’s background in arranging and managing capital for large infrastructure projects is particularly relevant to companies operating in the capital-intensive energy sector, where project development and expansion require significant long-term financing.
With his experience across renewable energy investment, infrastructure finance and corporate financial management, Somani joins Sunstream Green Energy at a stage of planned platform expansion. His appointment represents an addition to the company’s senior leadership as it continues to build toward its targeted 1 GW platform.
