Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), being one of the most esteemed subsidiaries of The Tata Power Company Limited, has recently made an official announcement regarding the successful commissioning of 10 GW of Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects so far. This remarkable milestone further cements TPREL’s position as a leader in the Indian renewable energy market.
A Diversified and Scalable Portfolio
The achievement of the 10 GW EPC milestone is a balanced strategy of internal and external developments. The total capacity includes the following:
- Solar Projects: 9.7 GW
- Wind Projects: 290 MW
- Project Breakdown: 4.2 GW developed as internal projects and 5.8 GW developed for third-party clients.
Record-Breaking Growth in FY26
The company has shown an aggressive growth pattern in the current fiscal year. In the first nine months of FY26, TPREL has commissioned 1.88 GW of EPC renewable capacity, registering a substantial 33% growth over the 1.4 GW commissioned in the same period of FY25.
The third quarter (Q3FY26) has been especially historic, with the company achieving 941 MW of projects. This marks the highest quarterly addition in TPREL’s history, with a staggering 139% increase from the 393 MW of Q3FY25.
Strategic Execution Across Challenging Terrains
The latest project of 1.88 GW capacity was implemented in five states with complex soil strata and different climatic conditions. The major highlights of the project are as follows:
- Solar: 1,329 MW capacity has been completed for third-party customers and 359 MW capacity for internal use.

Operational Strength and Future Outlook
TPREL’s success has been due to “seamless execution, rigorous project management, and an unwavering commitment to quality and safety,” according to the company. The total utility-scale operational capacity of the company is now 6.0 GW (4.8 GW solar and 1.2 GW wind). Going forward, the company expects to bring on line an additional 0.75 GW of its utility-owned capacity by the end of FY26.
By leveraging advanced engineering and a robust supply chain, TPREL continues to optimize costs while delivering high-impact energy solutions that are pivotal to India’s green energy transition.
