Torrent Green Energy Commissions 322 MWp of Solar Projects

Torrent Green Energy Pvt Ltd, a division of Torrent Power Ltd, has commissioned 322 MWp of ground-mounted solar projects under the Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojana (MSKVY) 2.0, a decentralised solar power scheme.

The company said in a news release that has received the order for feeder-level solarization under Component-C of the PM-KUSUM scheme, which is dispersed throughout the Nashik district of Maharashtra. Under a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), the project’s electricity would be supplied to Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL).

Implemented under the MSKVY framework, the project has been developed across 50 locations spanning 14 talukas of Nashik district. The solar portfolio comprises geographically diversified agricultural feeder solarisation projects.

Local solar plants powering rural feeders will ensure daytime electricity for farmers, enhance grid efficiency, reduce distribution losses, and support sustainable agriculture.

Executing the project required coordinated development across multiple locations, including resolving land issues, ensuring grid connectivity, obtaining local clearances, engineering, and undertaking simultaneous construction activities.

The project follows Torrent Power’s 306 MW solar power award from MSEDCL in March 2024 under MSKVY 2.0 for feeder-level solarisation under PM-KUSUM Component-C.
