Torrent Power has declared the appointment of Anuj Shah, who will join as Vice President, Human Resources, further strengthening its leadership team as the company fine-tunes its people-centric growth strategy in its licensed power distribution businesses.
His new responsibility now entails his leading the Human Resource Function for Torrent Power Limited. His mandate includes developing and implementing the Company’s Human Capital strategy, talent building, developing organisational effectiveness, capability building for leadership positions, and transforming the workforce while keeping in mind the long-term business goals of Torrent Power.
Leadership Focus on People and Growth
Torrent Power has been steadily strengthening its organisational capabilities as it expands and modernises its power distribution and energy operations. The appointment of Shah reflects the company’s emphasis on building robust people practices to support operational excellence, innovation, and sustainable growth across its licensed distribution areas.
As Vice-President – Human Resources, Shah will be required to work with the senior leadership team on workforce strategies that are closely aligned with business priorities. He should also nurture the culture of performance, learning, and employee engagement within the company.
Extensive HR Experience in Large Organisations
Shah joins Torrent Power after spending nearly two decades at Intas Pharmaceuticals, where he held several senior HR leadership roles, including Associate Vice President and Senior General Manager. During his tenure at Intas, he was closely involved in managing HR operations for a large and complex workforce and played a key role in designing and implementing enterprise-wide people strategies.
His experience spans leadership development, organisational design, talent management, and large-scale HR transformation initiatives, supporting business growth in a highly regulated and competitive environment.
