South Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited and North Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited have awarded Oswal Pumps, a vertically integrated solar pump manufacturer with headquarters in Haryana, a 20 MW grid-connected rooftop solar project contract. It would provide the power at its own expense and in accordance with the terms of the draft standard Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) and RFP.
Oswal Pumps declared in a regulatory filing that it had been granted a Letter of Award (LoA) under the PM Surya Ghar-Muft Bijli Yojana (PMSG-MBY) by Bihar Discom. The company was hired to design, supply, and construct the rooftop solar project. This order is distributed to 18,089 1.1 kW consumer locations in Bihar’s Darbhanga Circle.
It was awarded the RESCO project, which has an installation order value of around Rs. 78 crore and an estimated long-term revenue potential of about Rs. 67 crore for energy delivery during a ten-year tenure under the RESCO model. This results in a potential total revenue of about INR 145 crore. Over the course of the contract, each recipient household is anticipated to get roughly 15,000 units of solar power.
In the past, Oswal Pumps was awarded a 63 MW grid-connected rooftop solar project in Bihar under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana. For about Rs 247 crore, it obtained an early order from North Bihar Power Distribution Company Ltd (NBPDCL) and South Bihar Power Distribution Company Ltd (SBPDCL).
Under the RESCO model, this order came with an extra long-term revenue potential of about Rs 257 crore from energy delivery over ten years. The total potential revenue is more than Rs 500 crore.
A Grid-Connected Rooftop Solar PV (RTSPV) project with a 1.1 kW plant capacity would be installed on the roofs of interested Kutir Jyoti customers by Oswal Pumps, the Solar Power Developer (RESCO Developer).
Oswal Pumps stated that designing in accordance with site circumstances, engineering, manufacturing/procurement, manufacturer quality assurance, factory testing, transportation, handling, and storage were all included in the scope of work. Completing the erection, including all civil and structural work, electrical and general work, plumbing, cabling, installation, and provision for data acquisition with communication facilities to the centralised monitoring system of Bihar DISCOMs, is another activity included by the order.
Along with the provision of energy from the rooftop solar plants and the required 10-year O&M of the RTS system, it would also be in charge of testing, commissioning, services, project financing, permits, sanctions, and clearances, if needed, and insurance at every stage of this contract.
