Union Minister Pralhad Joshi to Inaugurate Windergy India 2026, Powering India’s Clean Energy Ambitions

Union Minister Pralhad Joshi to Inaugurate Windergy India 2026,

Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy Pralhad Joshi is set to inaugurate the 8th edition of Windergy India on October 8, 2026, at the Chennai Trade Centre. The inauguration will mark the opening of one of India’s leading wind energy exhibitions, bringing together industry stakeholders, technology providers, policymakers and renewable energy professionals to discuss developments and opportunities in the country’s wind power sector.

Establishing a high-level strategic tone for the three-day event, the grand inauguration ceremony will be graced by prominent national and state leaders. Pralhad Joshi, Hon’ble Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy, will lead the inauguration, with Thiru. C. Joseph Vijay, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, expected to join the ceremony, alongside Shripad Yesso Naik, Hon’ble Minister of State for New and Renewable Energy, Govt. of India, and Thiru. C.T.R. Nirmal Kumar, Hon’ble Minister for Energy Resources and Law, Govt. of Tamil Nadu.

Also in attendance will be senior bureaucrats and industry icons, including Shri Santosh Kumar Sarangi, Secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE); Shri Girish Tanti, Chairman, IWTMA & Vice Chairman, Suzlon Group; and Dr Saravanan Manickam, Vice Chairman, IWTMA & Country Head & MD-India, Nordex Group

The inauguration will also feature global MoU announcements and the launch of key sectoral reports, alongside recognition of states demonstrating leadership in the wind energy sector.

India added a record 6.05 GW of wind capacity in FY2025-26, with cumulative capacity reaching 58.52 GW by August 2026. With 28 GW under implementation, annual installations are targeted to reach 8 GW by 2027, supporting the goal of 100 GW by 2030.

-Technological Showcase: Highlighting 80% domestic value addition, advanced next-gen turbine platforms, heavy-duty gearboxes, AI-driven O&M, and offshore wind capabilities.

-Conference Core: Featuring parallel high-level deliberations on policy frameworks, manufacturing competitiveness, repowering strategies, and offshore wind frontiers.

-Institutional & Strategic Backing: Powered by formal support from the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) and the Ministry of Power, alongside key international agencies, apex bodies, and strategic partners.

Industry Partners: Windergy India 2026 Windergy India 2026 Chennai features a strong lineup of partners, with Suzlon Energy leading from the front as Platinum Partner, alongside Envision Wind Power Technologies and Senvion India as Gold Partners, and VenwindRefex and Renfra Energy as Silver Partners.

Organised by the Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturers Association (IWTMA) and PDA Ventures Pvt. Ltd. with official backing from the MNRE, the inauguration will underscore a unified national and international commitment to scaling India’s renewable capacities.
