    Zeekr 7X: Fastest-Charging SUV Under 10 Minutes

Powered by its high-speed battery pack, Zeekr’s 7X electric SUV, bound for Australia, achieves a fast-charging time of under 10 minutes, making it the world’s fastest-charging SUV.

In a practical charging experiment, Kyle, a US-based YouTuber, conducted a charging test where the speeds neared 470 kW, enabling the vehicle to progress from 0% to 70% in less than 10 minutes.

In the same way, it took less than 10 minutes to charge from 10% to 80%, and charging rates of 250 kW were still observed at that elevated state of charge.

It took about 20 minutes to complete the test, and the Zeekr 7X was charged at a Zeekr Power charging location in Ningbo.

The site features eight stalls and around 800 kW of power available at its dispensers. The Zeekr 7X managed to draw speeds of as much as 470 kW from one of them.

As a point of comparison, the fastest charging cars in Australia at present can charge at peak speeds of approximately 250 kW, with the exception of the new Porscha Taycan and Macan, which have real-world charging speeds below 300 kW.

In September, the Zeekr 7X was introduced to the public at the Chengdu Auto Show 2024. Upon its launch, pre-sales were announced with an initial price of RMB 239,000, which is under $A50,000.

Additionally, the 7X will come equipped with a 75 kWh Golden brick Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery, designed by Zeekr’s engineering team.

With an 800-Volt electrical system architecture, this battery is included in the car’s base model and provides a WLTP range of 480 km on one charge.
