Indian solar EPC company AB Energia Solutions has launched Arkannect, a distributed solar platform aimed at simplifying and accelerating rooftop solar adoption among residential consumers and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). The company has also appointed Sagar Saxena as Chief Executive Officer to lead the platform’s growth, market expansion, and customer adoption.
Focus on Emerging Distributed Solar Demand
Arkannect will first focus on fast-growing markets like Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Kerala, and Uttar Pradesh, where more and more people are using rooftop solar panels. India has about 22 GW of installed rooftop solar capacity right now, and almost 60% of that comes from businesses and industries (B2B).
However, the next phase of growth is expected to come from MSMEs and residential users, which are projected to grow at a 28% compound annual growth rate (CAGR). This shift reflects the increasing importance of decentralized solar solutions in India’s energy transition.
Integrated Platform to Simplify Adoption
Arkannect is designed as a “single-window” platform that integrates the entire solar value chain, including system design, financing, installation, and lifecycle maintenance. By leveraging AB Energia’s fully integrated in-house EPC capabilities, the platform aims to eliminate middlemen, reduce hidden costs, and improve transparency.
The platform also has a separate mobile app that lets customers see how the installation is going and how the system is working in real time. This method is mostly about making things easier to get to and more reliable for people living in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.
According to Siddharth Bhatia, the initiative extends the company’s EPC expertise from large-scale industrial projects to smaller consumers, with an emphasis on standardized execution and dependable service delivery.
Addressing Key Market Challenges
Arkannect uses a centralised engineering team and a network of local partners to get around common problems that stop people from using rooftop solar. These are things like broken service delivery, unclear pricing, and little help after the sale.
Sagar Saxena highlighted that the platform is built to offer a unified customer experience, covering everything from initial consultation to long-term maintenance.
Growth Outlook and Strategic Vision
AB Energia Solutions has set an ambitious revenue target of ₹700–1,000 crore over the next three years as it scales Arkannect across multiple regions.
The launch aligns with India’s broader push toward distributed renewable energy, where rooftop solar is expected to play a critical role in achieving clean energy targets. By improving accessibility, financing options, and service integration, Arkannect aims to expand participation among households and small businesses in the country’s energy transition.
