Ampace has showcased its lithium battery solutions for electric two-wheelers at EICMA Milan 2026, presenting technologies designed for off-road electric motorcycles, fast charging and large-scale battery swapping. The company’s portfolio targets European and international markets, focusing on battery reliability, performance under extreme conditions and commercial deployment.
The showcase comes as the electric two-wheeler industry increasingly prioritises battery reliability and operating performance alongside specifications such as energy density, power output and charging speed.
Ampace Introduces High-Performance Cells for Off-Road E-Motorcycles
Ampace presented its JP50 and EP65 21700 cylindrical cells alongside customised high-energy-density pouch battery solutions for off-road electric motorcycles.
The company has adapted lithium battery technologies developed for drones to address challenges in electric motorcycles, including battery weight, power delivery and charging speed. Its solutions feature 9-series ultra-high-nickel cathodes and silicon-carbon anodes, designed to deliver high performance while maintaining cycle life.
Ampace’s tabless design reduces internal resistance by 80%, supporting improved thermal performance during high-current discharge. The company said its battery cells maintain consistent power output during hill climbs, high-speed riding and temperature variations.
The JP50 supports fast charging at 3C or above, while both JP50 and EP65 are designed to address European electric two-wheeler requirements, including long-distance riding, commuting and recreational applications.
Ampace also demonstrated the durability of its battery technology through an off-road motorcycle equipped with a 7460 battery pack, which reportedly continued operating normally after being submerged for 24 hours at a depth of three metres.
Battery Swapping Operations Expand Across International Markets
Ampace also highlighted its battery swapping solutions, which have expanded beyond pilot projects into commercial operations across China, Southeast Asia, South America and Africa.
The company develops battery solutions customised for regional climates, road conditions and operating requirements, supporting high-frequency electric two-wheeler usage in challenging environments.
In Africa, Ampace batteries have been operating commercially for 2.5 years, completing 17 million battery swaps. Each battery pack has reportedly averaged more than 1,000 cycles under intensive, high-frequency usage.
The company said its battery swapping solutions are also supporting operations across Latin America, where batteries are designed to withstand demanding road conditions and intensive use.
Reliability Remains Central to Ampace’s Two-Wheeler Strategy
Through its EICMA showcase, Ampace is positioning battery reliability and real-world operating performance as key factors in electric two-wheeler adoption.
Its portfolio combines high-performance battery cells for off-road applications with battery swapping solutions designed for commercial operations across international markets, supporting the wider electrification of two-wheelers.
