ATESS Introduces MatrixOne All-in-One BESS for C&I Energy Management

ATESS Power Technology Co., Ltd. has introduced MatrixOne, a new all-in-one battery energy storage system (BESS) series designed for commercial and industrial (C&I) applications.

The new platform aims to help businesses manage electricity costs, integrate renewable energy, enhance energy resilience, and gain greater control over power consumption.

The MatrixOne series includes two outdoor configurations. The MatrixOne IC261-400S provides 125 kW of power output and 261 kWh of storage capacity, while the higher-capacity IC418-690/IC418-800 delivers 215 kW of output with 418 kWh of battery storage.

The systems are designed for applications across factories, industrial parks, offices, shopping centres and other C&I facilities. Users can deploy the systems for peak shaving, load shifting, solar self-consumption and backup power.

For businesses with high electricity consumption during peak tariff periods, MatrixOne can store electricity when prices are lower and discharge it during periods of higher demand. This approach can help reduce electricity costs while supporting more efficient energy use.

MatrixOne is also designed to work with distributed solar PV installations. When paired with ATESS SMC, PV cables can be combined near solar arrays before connecting to the MatrixOne system. According to ATESS, this configuration can reduce cabling requirements and energy transfer losses while offering a lower-cost alternative to conventional solutions based on hybrid inverters.

The all-in-one cabinet architecture integrates key battery storage and power management components into a single outdoor system. This can simplify project design, installation and cabling while reducing the footprint required for energy storage equipment.

The cabinets feature IP55 protection, while the battery compartments are rated IP66, supporting outdoor deployment across a range of operating environments.

MatrixOne is designed to provide energy resilience alongside daily energy management.

The IC261-400S incorporates an integrated static transfer switch (STS), enabling on-grid to off-grid switching within 10 milliseconds following a grid outage. This allows the system to provide rapid backup power while continuing to support normal energy management functions.

For applications requiring greater energy independence, the IC418-690/IC418-800 offers grid-forming and black-start capabilities. These features are designed to support facilities where maintaining operations during grid interruptions is critical.

ATESS has incorporated intelligent energy management functions into the MatrixOne platform. Its AI-based revenue optimisation system uses dynamic electricity pricing to help determine charging and discharging strategies, allowing businesses to respond to changing tariff conditions.

Liquid cooling is used to support consistent battery operation and long-term performance. The system also incorporates integrated safety features designed to provide multiple layers of protection during operation.

MatrixOne can be expanded as energy requirements increase, allowing businesses to scale storage capacity alongside changes in electricity demand, solar installations or operational requirements.

With the MatrixOne series, ATESS is positioning BESS technology as a broader energy management solution rather than simply a backup power system. By combining energy cost optimisation, solar integration, power resilience, intelligent controls and scalable storage in an integrated platform, the company aims to help C&I users improve how they generate, store and consume electricity.
