ChargeZone has announced plans to establish around 1,000 EV Charging stations along key highways across India by FY2027, as part of its strategy to accelerate the country’s electric mobility transition. The expansion will be implemented through the company’s Dealer Owned Company Operated (DOCO) model, aimed at scaling infrastructure deployment efficiently.
DOCO Model to Drive Faster Expansion
Infrastructure partners and site owners will put money into charging assets as part of the DOCO framework. After that, ChargeZone will be in charge of running the network, keeping it up to date, and connecting it to other digital systems. This method speeds up the process of putting in charging stations while keeping things running smoothly and making the most of available resources.
The model also reduces capital burden on the company while leveraging partnerships to expand reach across high-demand corridors.
Focus on Highways and Intercity Corridors
The planned network expansion will mostly focus on major national highways and important intercity routes where more and more people want to charge their electric vehicles quickly. The initiative is expected to make charging infrastructure much easier to get to as more and more people use electric vehicles, especially for long trips.
By strengthening highway charging availability, ChargeZone aims to address range anxiety one of the biggest challenges faced by EV users and enable seamless intercity travel.
Advanced Charging Infrastructure for Multiple Segments
The new stations will have high-capacity DC fast chargers that can charge a wide range of electric vehicles, including passenger cars, buses, and commercial fleets. This makes the network able to serve both individual users and fleet operators.
ChargeZone has already been expanding its footprint across India, focusing on building a reliable and high-speed charging ecosystem to support growing EV demand.
Aligned with India’s Clean Mobility Push
The growth fits with India’s larger goal of making transportation more environmentally friendly and getting more people to use electric vehicles. The company is collaborating with OEMs, fleet operators, and mobility partners to strengthen the charging ecosystem and support the transition away from conventional fuels.
As more people switch to electric vehicles, ChargeZone’s initiative is expected to be very important in building a strong highway charging network that will make long-distance electric travel possible and help India reach its clean energy goals.
