Clean Max Enviro Energy Solutions Limited has commissioned a 185 MW hybrid wind-solar power project at Kalavad in Gujarat, strengthening its renewable energy footprint in one of India’s key clean energy markets. The project, developed over a period of approximately 12 months, integrates both wind and solar capacity to deliver reliable green power to industrial consumers.
Powering C&I Consumers Through Group Captive Model
The Kalavad project will provide renewable energy to 17 businesses using the group captive model. Companies that want to invest in the project can do so with this structure, and the Electricity Act says they have to be able to get clean power for a long time.
Notable offtakers include Apar Industries Limited and Borosil Renewables Limited, among others. The hybrid configuration ensures a more consistent and reliable energy supply, particularly suited to industries with round-the-clock power requirements.
Strengthening Gujarat Portfolio
As of March 31, 2026, CleanMax’s total operational capacity in Gujarat has reached about 844 MW, thanks to the Kalavad project. The project strengthens the company’s presence in the state, which is becoming a center for the use of renewable energy in the commercial and industrial (C&I) sector.
Managing Director Kuldeep Jain praised Gujarat’s leadership in industrial decarbonisation, saying that policy, demand, and economics are all in line. He said that the Kalavad project builds on the company’s operational experience by bringing together many customers onto one hybrid platform.
Revenue Visibility and Long-Term Contracts
Chief Financial Officer Nikunj Ghodawat stated that the project is expected to generate annual revenues exceeding ₹165 crore from FY2027 onwards. The project is backed by 25-year fixed-tariff power purchase agreements (PPAs), providing long-term visibility and stability of cash flows over its lifecycle.
Environmental Impact and Capacity Growth
When it is fully up and running, the Kalavad project is expected to cut carbon dioxide emissions by about 3.61 lakh tonnes every year. This is the same as planting almost 20.9 million trees every year.
CleanMax said that as of March 31, 2026, it had a total operational energy sale capacity of 3.1 GW. This capacity was spread across many locations and served a wide range of customers.
The project underscores CleanMax’s continued focus on delivering scalable hybrid renewable solutions to support industrial decarbonisation and India’s broader clean energy transition.
