Dreamfly Innovations Recognised Under 100 Desi Deeptechs

Dreamfly Innovations has been named one of the “100 Desi Deeptechs”, a new initiative by Startup Policy Forum in collaboration with MeitY Startup Hub, Startup India, and Indian Institute of Technology Madras. The initiative spotlights 100 founders and companies building core technologies that are critical to India’s long-term growth and self-reliance.

The cohort includes startups across sectors such as drones and aerospace, defence tech, cleantech, robotics, semiconductors, advanced manufacturing, and electric mobility. The initiative aims to bring deeptech founders and policymakers together to discuss what it will take to build, scale, and strengthen India’s deeptech ecosystem.

Dreamfly Innovations is developing high-performance battery technologies for drones, aviation, and aerospace applications, with a strong focus on safety, reliability, and performance in Indian operating conditions. As drones see increasing adoption across agriculture, surveillance, logistics, mapping, and defence, the demand for locally developed and dependable battery systems continues to grow.

Founded in 2022 by Kajal Shah and Dr. Saurabh Markandeya, Dreamfly has been addressing some of the most critical challenges in drone battery technology, including thermal management, operational safety, and improving flight endurance without adding extra weight. The company’s innovations include advanced thermal cases for heat management, lightweight battery architectures, and next-generation energy systems designed to enable longer and safer drone operations.

Dreamfly Innovation’s recognition under the “100 Desi Deeptechs” initiative reflects a broader shift in India’s push towards reducing dependence on imported technologies in strategic sectors such as aerospace and drones. Startups like Dreamfly are playing a key role in strengthening domestic manufacturing and innovation capabilities in these emerging industries.

Commenting on the recognition, Kajal Shah, Co-Founder & CEO at Dreamfly Innovation said:

“This is an important moment for us at Dreamfly innovations and reflects the growing momentum within India’s deeptech ecosystem. Our work is focused on building safe and reliable battery technologies for India’s drone and aerospace requirements. As the country continues strengthening its manufacturing and R&D capabilities, deeptech startups also need sustained support through access to research, shared infrastructure, and long-term policy thinking.”

The “100 Desi Deeptechs” initiative emerged from a series of industry roundtables involving founders, policymakers, and ecosystem stakeholders. The initiative is expected to put forward recommendations aimed at helping deeptech startups scale sustainably while strengthening India’s position in the global technology landscape.

Headquartered in Bengaluru, Dreamfly Innovations specializes in developing high-performance, long-lasting batteries for drones, aviation, and aerospace applications. Leveraging expertise in advanced cell technologies, including lithium-based chemistries, graphene, and supercapacitors, Dreamfly delivers energy solutions that are reliable, safe, and sustainable. Through its groundbreaking innovations, the company is redefining industry standards, empowering customers to achieve market leadership while advancing their sustainability objectives.
