Exide Energy International (EIL) has entered into a long-term strategic cooperation agreement with ExCom Energy Solutions GmbH, Germany, to deliver advanced industrial battery and energy storage solutions across the European Economic Area (EEA).
The partnership brings together EIL’s battery manufacturing capabilities and ExCom’s engineering expertise and market presence in Europe. The collaboration will initially focus on solutions for traction, motive-power and stationary battery applications, targeting industrial and energy storage requirements across EEA markets.
Under the agreement, the battery and energy storage solutions developed through the cooperation will be introduced across EEA countries under the ExCom brand. This arrangement is expected to provide a platform for expanding the reach of EIL’s manufacturing capabilities into European markets while leveraging ExCom’s established engineering and market capabilities.
The initial application areas cover multiple segments of industrial battery demand. Traction and motive-power batteries are used across material-handling equipment and other industrial applications, while stationary energy storage systems can support a range of power and energy management requirements.
The cooperation is also expected to combine manufacturing and engineering capabilities across the two companies. EIL will contribute its expertise in battery manufacturing, while ExCom will support the partnership through its engineering capabilities and market reach in the EEA.
The Exide ExCom agreement represents an expansion of EIL’s international business activities and provides a route for its battery technologies and products to reach customers across European markets. The EEA includes the European Union member states along with Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway, creating a broad regional market for industrial energy solutions.
The partnership will initially concentrate on industrial battery applications, with the companies combining their respective capabilities to address customer requirements for reliable and innovative energy solutions.
For EIL, the cooperation forms part of its broader international growth strategy and strengthens its presence in the European battery and energy storage market. For ExCom, the arrangement provides access to EIL’s manufacturing capabilities while supporting its ability to offer battery solutions across its target markets.
The collaboration comes as industrial electrification and energy storage continue to create demand for advanced battery technologies across Europe. Applications ranging from industrial mobility to stationary energy storage are contributing to the need for dependable battery systems and associated engineering solutions.
Through the long-term agreement, EIL and ExCom Energy Solutions will work together to introduce and deliver battery and energy storage solutions across the EEA, initially targeting traction, motive-power and stationary applications under the ExCom brand.
