INA Solar (Insolation Energy Limited), through its subsidiary Insolation Green Energy Private Limited, has signed a five-year strategic partnership with US-based Caelux Corporation to commercialise 3 GW of advanced solar modules. The agreement will combine Caelux’s proprietary Energy Producing Glass technology with INA Solar’s N-Type TOPCon platform, targeting solar module efficiencies of up to 29% by 2028.
The collaboration will focus on developing Hybrid-Tandem™ solar modules that integrate TOPCon solar cells with a perovskite-based power-generating glass layer. The technology is designed to increase electricity generation, improve power density and lower the levelised cost of electricity (LCOE) for solar projects.
The companies will work together on technology validation, manufacturing readiness and regulatory approvals required for commercial deployment, including compliance with the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM).
The agreement brings together INA Solar’s solar manufacturing capabilities and Caelux’s perovskite technology. By integrating the Energy Producing Glass layer into TOPCon-based modules, the companies aim to develop higher-efficiency solar products for commercial-scale deployment in India.
According to the companies, the Hybrid-Tandem™ technology is intended to improve energy generation from solar modules while increasing power output per unit area. These improvements could help enhance the economics of solar installations by increasing electricity production and reducing the cost of power generation.
The five-year agreement will cover the commercialisation process, including technology validation and preparation for manufacturing at scale.
Caelux also stated that its total contracted volume with module manufacturers globally has exceeded 25 GW following the agreement with INA Solar.
Insolation Energy Limited currently operates three solar module manufacturing facilities in Jaipur, Rajasthan, with a combined annual manufacturing capacity of 5.5 GW.
The company is developing a 4.5 GW TOPCon solar cell manufacturing facility and an aluminium frame manufacturing facility with a capacity of 18,000 metric tonnes per annum (MTA) in Narmadapuram, Madhya Pradesh.
Its product portfolio includes TOPCon and Mono PERC solar modules with capacities ranging from 500 Wp to 635 Wp, alongside engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services. INA Solar also operates an Independent Power Producer (IPP) portfolio of approximately 400 MW.
Founded in 2015 and headquartered in Jaipur, Rajasthan, Insolation Energy Limited is listed on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). The company has a presence across more than 250 districts, serves over 40,000 customers and works with a network of more than 1,000 channel partners.
Headquartered in Baldwin Park, California, Caelux Corporation specialises in perovskite solar technology. Its proprietary Energy Producing Glass technology is designed to convert the top glass layer of a solar module into an additional power-generating layer.
By combining this technology with conventional solar cell platforms, the company aims to increase module power density and improve the economics of solar projects.
The partnership with INA Solar will focus on integrating the technology with N-Type TOPCon modules and preparing the resulting products for commercial production in India.
With the 3 GW agreement, both companies aim to advance the commercialisation of high-efficiency Hybrid-Tandem™ solar modules, with a target of achieving module efficiencies of up to 29% by 2028.
