Inox Wind Secures ₹1,600 Crore 200 MW Repeat Order From NLC India

Inox Wind Secures ₹1,600 Crore 200 MW Repeat Order From NLC India

Inox Wind Limited (IWL), a leading provider of wind energy solutions, has secured a repeat 200 MW turnkey order from NLC India Limited, further strengthening its position in India’s growing renewable energy market.

The order, awarded by NLC India, carries an approximate contract value of ₹1,600 crore. The latest win marks another significant collaboration between the two companies and adds to Inox Wind’s growing order book, which currently stands at around 4.7 GW.

Under the terms of the contract, Inox Wind will undertake the end-to-end execution of the project. The company’s scope will include the supply of wind turbine generators (WTGs), engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) activities, as well as post-commissioning operations and maintenance (O&M) services.

The project is scheduled to be commissioned within 24 months from the date of issuance of the Letter of Award (LoA). The turnkey nature of the contract will allow Inox Wind to manage the project across multiple stages, from equipment supply and construction to long-term operational support.

The latest order further expands the relationship between Inox Wind and NLC India. The two companies previously collaborated on a 50 MW Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS)-connected wind power project, for which Inox Wind received an order in January 2024.

Under the earlier contract, Inox Wind was responsible for the supply, installation and commissioning of its DF 113/92–2.0 MW Wind Turbine Generators. The project is being developed at the Dayapar site in Gujarat’s Kutch district. Inox Wind is also expected to provide comprehensive O&M services for more than 10 years following the project’s commissioning.

The repeat order from NLC India highlights the growing demand for renewable energy projects in India as power sector companies and public sector enterprises continue to increase their focus on clean energy generation. Wind power remains a key component of India’s renewable energy transition, supported by the country’s efforts to expand its non-fossil fuel-based electricity capacity.

With the addition of the latest 200 MW project, Inox Wind’s order book has reached approximately 4.7 GW. The portfolio includes projects from a diversified customer base comprising commercial and industrial (C&I) customers, public sector undertakings (PSUs) and independent power producers (IPPs).

Commenting on the development, Sanjeev Agarwal, CEO of Inox Wind Limited, said the company was pleased to secure the repeat 200 MW turnkey order from NLC India, describing the customer as one of India’s leading public sector enterprises in the power sector.

Agarwal said the order validates Inox Wind’s integrated turnkey capabilities, execution expertise and technologically advanced product portfolio. He added that the company’s strong and diversified order pipeline provides significant visibility for future growth.

The latest contract is expected to provide Inox Wind with further execution visibility while strengthening its presence in India’s wind energy sector. The company will work closely with NLC India to execute the project within the stipulated timeline.

As India accelerates the deployment of renewable energy capacity, large-scale wind projects are expected to play an important role in supporting the country’s clean energy ambitions. Inox Wind’s growing order book and continued partnerships with major power sector entities position the company to participate in the expansion of India’s renewable energy infrastructure.
