JSW Energy’s step-down company, JSW Energy PSP Eleven (JEPEL), has received an order for battery energy storage systems valued at ₹443.74 crore from Bondada Renewable Energy, a completely owned subsidiary of Bondada Engineering. According to the agreement, JEPEL will supply a 200 MW/400 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) and Power Conversion System (PCS) solutions.
The battery systems will be supported by JEPEL’s battery assembly facility in Pune, which has an annual manufacturing capacity of 5 GWh. The plant forms part of JSW Energy’s strategy to expand domestic manufacturing capabilities for utility-scale energy storage projects.
JSW Energy has been steadily increasing its presence across both renewable power generation and energy storage. The company currently has a locked-in generation capacity of 32.1 GW, including 14.53 GW of operational assets, around 13 GW under construction across thermal, hydro and renewable energy projects, and a development pipeline of 4.6 GW.
In energy storage, the company has a locked-in capacity of 29.6 GWh, comprising 26.4 GWh of pumped hydro energy storage and 3.2 GWh of battery energy storage systems.
Part of the JSW Group, JSW Energy operates across multiple segments of the power sector, including electricity generation and transmission. The company has been expanding its portfolio through investments in renewable energy, pumped hydro storage and battery energy storage systems to support India’s evolving clean energy landscape.
JSW Energy reported a 38.36 percent year-over-year growth in total net profit to ₹573.53 crore for the quarter that ended on March 31, 2026, compared to ₹414.51 crore in the same quarter of the prior fiscal year. Due to improved operational efficiency and ongoing capacity development, revenue from operations also rose 41.04 percent year over year to ₹4,498.58 crore.
