German renewable energy company JUWI GmbH has secured contracts with three energy-sector companies to provide technical operations, servicing and maintenance for six additional battery energy storage systems (BESS) in Germany and Belgium.
The six storage facilities are currently under construction and are expected to be commissioned within the next six months. The projects have individual storage capacities ranging from 4 MWh to 100 MWh.
With the new contracts, JUWI’s portfolio of battery storage systems under technical operations and maintenance services has expanded to around 700 MWh of storage capacity. The company has been managing BESS facilities in Germany and Belgium for more than five years.
Under the newly signed agreements, JUWI will provide technical operations management, servicing and maintenance during the initial years of the projects’ operational phase. The contracts cover facilities being developed for three separate energy-sector companies.
JUWI said the agreements reflect the growing role of battery storage in supporting a secure and flexible power system, while also highlighting demand for experienced operators capable of managing storage assets throughout their operational lifecycle.
Oliver Otte, Head of O&M at JUWI GmbH, said the company’s experience in operating battery storage systems enables it to support investors and operators with reliable, safe and cost-effective asset management.
With the addition of the six projects, JUWI is further expanding its position as an operations and maintenance partner for battery storage and renewable energy assets across Europe.
