At the 3rd National Women in Energy Summit 2026, the National Solar Energy Federation of India (NSEFI) gave Mrs. Chandani Sabhani from Kosol Energie the “Women at the Frontlines: Manufacturing” award. The Women in Solar Energy (WISE) group put on this event.
During the summit, leaders from the business world, the government, and the renewable energy field all came together to give the award. Everyone agreed that women play a big role in making the future of green energy. Mrs. Sabhani won the “Women at the Frontlines: Manufacturing” award for her work to improve India’s solar manufacturing ecosystem and for being a good leader. Deepa Bagai, who used to work for the IAS and is now the Chairman of the National Research Development Corporation (NRDC), gave her the award.
Celebrating Women Leaders in Renewable Energy
The WISE Awards celebrate women making significant contributions to India’s renewable energy sector. They honour professionals who are driving innovation, leadership, and inclusivity while helping to strengthen the country’s clean energy ecosystem. The awards ceremony saw the presence of several distinguished leaders, including Zorica Crisolli, Project Director at GIZ; Manju Gupta, Executive Director at Power Grid Corporation of India; Suman Chandra, Director at the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy; and Sudeep Jain, Member Secretary of the National Commission for Women.
The Chief Guest, Aparajita Sarangi, Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha (Bhubaneswar, Odisha), emphasised the importance of women’s leadership in accelerating India’s sustainable energy transition.
