Madhya Pradesh Power Generating Company (MPPGCL) has floated an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) tender for the development of a 30 MW solar power project on the premises of its thermal power plant. Under the tender, the selected bidder will be responsible for commissioning a 30 MWac ground-mounted solar project on vacant land at the Sanjay Gandhi Thermal Power Station (SGTPS), Birsinghpur, in Madhya Pradesh.
In addition to the project execution, the successful bidder will also undertake Comprehensive Operation and Maintenance (O&M) of the solar facility for a period of five years from the date of the Operational Acceptance Test (OAT). Interested bidders are required to submit their proposals by 14 August 2026 at 1500 hours (IST).
As specified in the tender, bids will remain valid for 270 days from the bid closing date/proposal due date or any extension thereof. The tender further stipulates that bidders must bear the complete cost of any goods sourced from outside India, including Customs Duty, Countervailing Duty (CVD), and all other applicable levies. These costs are required to be included in the quoted bid prices, with no additional financial liability on MPPGCL.
The tender also requires bidders to furnish an Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) of ₹1 crore in the form of an on-demand bank guarantee or an insurance bond. The Bank Guarantee (BG) must remain valid for 270 days from the date of bid opening.
According to the tender, Madhya Pradesh Power Generating Company Ltd. (MPPGCL) is the successor entity to the erstwhile Madhya Pradesh State Electricity Board (MPSEB). The project is in line with the company’s objective of expanding, operating, and maintaining its existing generation assets while developing new power projects to enhance electricity generation capacity in Madhya Pradesh and meet the state’s growing power demand.
MPPGCL currently operates thermal power plants with a total installed capacity of 5,498 MW, while its hydropower generation capacity stands at 921 MW.
