Odisha has attracted prospective investment proposals worth approximately ₹1.17 lakh crore for clean energy projects with a planned capacity addition of around 11,742 MW at the Bharat Renewable Energy Summit & Expo (BRES) 2026 in New Delhi. The investment proposals were formalised through the exchange of 18 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs), marking another step towards strengthening the state’s renewable energy ecosystem under the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.
The proposed investments cover a diverse range of clean energy technologies, including pumped storage, solar, wind, hybrid renewable energy, battery energy storage systems (BESS), green hydrogen, green data centres and other emerging clean energy solutions.
The proposed capacity addition is expected to support Odisha’s renewable energy expansion while creating opportunities for private sector participation across the clean energy value chain. The MoUs reflect growing industry interest in the state’s renewable energy potential and its opportunities for clean energy infrastructure development.
The investment proposals also align with Odisha’s broader ambitions to promote sustainable industrial development, strengthen its energy infrastructure and contribute to India’s clean energy transition.
Through these partnerships, Odisha aims to accelerate the development of renewable energy projects and emerging technologies, positioning the state as an attractive destination for clean energy investments and supporting the country’s long-term energy transition objectives.
