On the second day of the Bharat Renewable Energy Summit and Expo (BRES) 2026, Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy Pralhad Joshi, Union Minister for Power and Housing and Urban Affairs Manohar Lal Khattar, and Minister of State for New and Renewable Energy and Power Shripad Yesso Naik participated in the ministerial plenary titled “The Next Terawatt.” Organised by the International Solar Alliance (ISA), CEEW and Energiva Ventures, the high-level dialogue brought together senior government officials and industry leaders to discuss and shape the international renewable energy implementation framework for the coming decades.
The discussions deliberated on four key priority areas critical to accelerating the next phase of global renewable energy expansion: integrated energy planning, supply and storage; energy infrastructure expansion and resilience; terawatt-scale financing of projects and ecosystems; and digitalisation and AI for secure and affordable energy. The discussions outlined a strategic roadmap from now to 2050, aligned with India’s vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047.
Odisha witnessed the signing of 18 Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs), representing a total proposed investment of approximately ₹1.17 lakh crore, in the presence of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo.
In a separate development, Bondada Engineering Ltd., part of the Bondada Group, signed an MoU with the Goa Investment Promotion and Facilitation Board (Goa-IPB), committing a proposed investment of approximately ₹3,000 crore towards renewable energy projects in Goa.
BRE Summit & Expo 2026 has brought together representatives from over 130 countries, including more than 40 Ministers, senior policymakers, investors, financial institutions and industry leaders. Australia, Denmark, the European Union, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and the United Kingdom are participating as Country Partners, providing opportunities to strengthen bilateral cooperation and facilitate investment and technology partnerships across the clean energy value chain.
