India Proposes Unified National Framework for Electricity Data Sharing

Rajesh Power Services Limited has bagged a new order worth ₹211.68 crore (including taxes) from Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Limited (OPTCL), giving the company its first major project in Odisha and further expanding its presence across India.

The project involves building a 220 kV underground transmission cable link between the Mendhasal Grid Substation and the Chandaka B Gas Insulated Substation. In addition, Rajesh Power will carry out expansion work at both substations, including the extension of the AIS bay at Mendhasal and the GIS bay at Chandaka B.

For Rajesh Power, the order is significant not only because it opens the door to a new state but also because it ranks among the company’s biggest transmission contracts so far. The company already has projects underway in Gujarat, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Maharashtra, and Madhya Pradesh.

As states continue to invest in strengthening power infrastructure, projects such as this play a crucial role in improving electricity transmission networks and supporting growing demand from industries, businesses, and households.

Speaking about the development, Kurang Panchal, Managing Director of Rajesh Power Services Limited, said, ” The company sees the project as an opportunity to contribute to Odisha’s expanding power network while showcasing its expertise in large-scale transmission works.”

“The award reflects the trust that utilities place in our technical capabilities and project execution experience. We look forward to working with OPTCL and delivering the project with a strong focus on quality and reliability,” Panchal said.

Rajesh Power Services has built its business around transmission and distribution infrastructure projects, with experience spanning extra-high-voltage transmission lines, substations, and underground cabling systems. The Odisha project further strengthens the company’s footprint in India’s rapidly growing power sector.

Rajesh Power is a leading provider of overhead-to-underground power network systems, providing its services to all its valued customers. Rajesh Power is committed to surveying, planning & implementing the best solutions to its customers while focusing on the safety of its employees and the sustainability of its services in which it operates, with a commitment to achieving quality-oriented goals.
