Tata Power Solaroof Surpasses 5 Lakh Rooftop Solar Installations

Tata Power Solaroof, the rooftop solar business of Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd (TPREL), has surpassed 5 lakh rooftop solar installations across India, marking a significant milestone in the adoption of distributed renewable energy across residential, commercial and industrial segments.

As of July 31, 2026, the company had completed 5,19,673 rooftop solar installations, giving it a 14% share of the market. Tata Power Solaroof is targeting 30 lakh rooftop solar installations across India by 2029.

CRISIL has recognised Tata Power Solaroof as India’s No. 1 rooftop solar player for 12 consecutive years, according to the company. It operates a nationwide network of more than 700 channel partners and 250 authorised service partners, providing support across consultation, system design, installation, commissioning and after-sales service.

Under its ‘Quality Lifelong’ proposition, Tata Power Solaroof offers solar modules with 25- and 30-year performance warranties, while its systems carry a minimum five-year warranty. The company also provides financing, insurance and service support.

Tata Power Solaroof is also supporting rooftop solar adoption through its ‘Ghar Ghar Solar’ initiative, launched in 2024 and aligned with the objectives of the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana.

The initiative has expanded across 11 states and one Union Territory, including Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Kerala, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Bihar, Chhattisgarh and Chandigarh.

The company offers financing options through banks and NBFCs. It said it has facilitated more than ₹8,500 crore in financing through a network of over 25 financing partners.

For commercial and industrial customers, Tata Power Solaroof provides financing solutions, including its SunSmart Flexi EMI Scheme, designed to align repayments with projected solar energy generation.

Tata Power Solaroof is also expanding its offerings in the commercial and industrial segment, serving sectors such as textiles, steel, cold storage, IT, hospitality, biotechnology, FMCG, automotive and data centres.

In addition to rooftop solar, Tata Power has introduced battery energy storage solutions under the Tata Power Battery Storage brand. Its residential Mysine portfolio offers battery storage systems ranging from 5 kWh to 40 kWh, while the PowerHub portfolio for C&I customers ranges from 60 kWh to 5 MWh, with further scalability based on operational requirements.

Tata Power Solaroof is promoting distributed renewable energy and energy storage as complimentary options for homes and businesses looking to increase clean energy adoption and lessen reliance on conventional power through its growing rooftop solar and battery storage portfolio.
