Trinasolar Vertex S+ Modules Installed at Iconic South Australian Tourism Landmark

Trinasolar Vertex S+ Modules Installed

Trinasolar, a global provider of smart photovoltaic and energy storage solutions, has supplied 200 Vertex S+ 500W (NEG18R.28) solar modules for a new 100-kW rooftop solar system at the National Wine Centre of Australia, one of South Australia’s prominent tourism and hospitality landmarks.
Located adjacent to the Adelaide Botanic Garden, the National Wine Centre presented a complex commercial solar installation. The installed system spans two buildings with unique, multi-angled roof structures, while the venue needed to remain fully operational throughout installation.
Delivered by Venergy Solar, the system was carefully designed around the existing roof geometry, with the arrays positioned to remain largely concealed from key public viewing areas. Allowing rooftop solar to be integrated without detracting from the visual character of the landmark. A staged installation also allowed the National Wine Centre to continue hosting weddings, conferences, tourism activities and other events without interruption.
The Trinasolar Vertex S+ modules were selected for their combination of a 500W output and  medium-format, lightweight design, enabling effective use of the available rooftop space. The modules’ n-type i-TOPCon cell technology supports high efficiency and low long-term degradation and strong energy generation over the operating life of the system.
Edison Zhou, Head of Australia, New Zealand and Pacific Islands at Trinasolar said, “The National Wine Centre shows the range of considerations that can come into play in commercial solar, particularly for prominent buildings where available rooftop space and design are important. Vertex S+ combines strong power output with a practical module format, giving installers greater flexibility to make effective use of available rooftop space.”
Matthew Wilkins, founder and CEO Venergy Solar said the project required multiple site-specific engineering solutions. “Because of the roof geometry and the visibility of the site, we spent a lot of time modelling how the system would sit across the two buildings and how best to use the available roof areas. The Vertex S+ gave us the power output and format we needed to work within those design parameters,” Mr Wilkins said.
“We have also worked with Trinasolar for many years. Product quality, an established presence in Australia and access to local after-sales support are all important considerations when we select the products we put on our customers’ roofs.”
National Wine Centre General Manager Simon Burgess said the investment reflected the venue’s broader commitment to sustainability while respecting its unique location and visitor experience.
“The National Wine Centre is surrounded by nature and sits in one of Adelaide’s most unique locations, so sustainability is an important part of how we see the venue evolving,” Burgess said.
“The investment in solar forms part of the National Wine Centre’s broader focus on sustainability, operational efficiency and responsible asset management. As a significant South Australian venue located alongside the Adelaide Botanic Garden, it is important that we continue to identify practical opportunities to reduce our environmental impact.”
