In a significant development for India’s electric vehicle ecosystem, major charging network operators Bolt.Earth and ChargeZone teaming up together to provide EV(A) drivers with expanded access to fast-charging networks throughout India.
The two companies have integrated their charging networks, allowing users to find, access and pay for chargers through a single platform. The move gives EV owners access to more than 1,500 fast-charging stations for electric cars across the country without having to switch between multiple apps.
As India’s EV market grows, one of the biggest pain points for drivers has been the fragmented charging ecosystem. Many charging stations operate on different networks, forcing users to download separate applications and maintain multiple payment accounts. The new collaboration aims to remove that hassle and make public charging more convenient.
ChargeZone, which operates a large fast-charging network across highways and cities, currently manages over 15,000 charging points at more than 1,200 locations in India and the UAE. Its chargers are widely used by EV owners travelling between cities as well as commercial fleet operators.
Bolt.Earth, on the other hand, has built a much broader charging ecosystem covering over 2,000 cities. The company says it has deployed more than 100,000 chargers across India, serving electric two-wheelers, three-wheelers and passenger vehicles.
Under the partnership, ChargeZone’s charging stations will become visible on the Bolt.Earth platform, enabling users to check charger availability and make payments through a single interface. The companies believe this will improve charger accessibility and help users plan their journeys more efficiently.
Commenting on the development, Kartikey Hariyani, Founder and CEO of ChargeZone, said interoperability is becoming increasingly important as EV adoption rises across personal, commercial and fleet segments. He noted that making charging networks work together is essential for creating a better experience for EV users.
Jyotiranjan Harichandan, Founder of Bolt.Earth, said the partnership is focused on improving charger discoverability and reducing range anxiety. According to him, easier access to charging infrastructure can encourage more consumers to make the switch to electric vehicles.
The announcement comes at a time when India’s charging infrastructure is expanding rapidly. According to government data, the country now has over 25,000 public EV charging stations, but fast chargers still account for a relatively small share of the overall network. Industry stakeholders have increasingly called for greater interoperability to improve charger utilisation and enhance the EV ownership experience.
With both companies bringing their networks together, the partnership represents another step towards building a more connected and user-friendly charging ecosystem in India.
