CATL Launches Middle East’s Largest New Energy Aftermarket Facility in Riyadh

On January 10, 2026, CATL inaugurated the Middle East’s first and largest new energy aftermarket facility outside China, the NING SERVICE Experience Center in Riyadh. The facility strengthens CATL’s after-sales capabilities in the region and supports Saudi Arabia and the Middle East’s transition to cleaner energy systems under Vision 2030 and similar national initiatives.

Saudi Arabia plans to transition 30% of all vehicles in Riyadh to electric by 2030, aiming to reduce emissions in the capital by 50%. Sustainability initiatives, including electrifying forklifts and promoting green energy on farms under the Saudi Green Initiative, are further accelerating this transformation. However, the region faces challenges such as oil dependency, high electricity demand, extreme climate, and limited charging and service infrastructure.

Comprehensive Full-Lifecycle After-Sales Services

Strategically designed to overcome these challenges, the Riyadh facility spans over 7,000 square meters, including exhibition spaces, diagnostics and maintenance zones, refurbishment facilities, training areas, and a customer lounge. It acts as a local service hub, showcasing CATL’s capabilities in electric mobility, energy storage, and intelligent electrification while fostering industrial collaboration across the ecosystem.

Relying on CATL’s advanced R&D and manufacturing expertise, the center offers full-lifecycle services: battery diagnostics, repair, maintenance, rework, training, recycling, logistics, and warehousing. Covering seven major product categories, from passenger and commercial vehicles to energy storage systems, it helps customers reduce downtime, lower maintenance costs, and extend asset life.

Advancing Local Operations and Talent Development

The Riyadh center also supports localized operations and skill-building. Through dedicated training facilities, CATL cultivates technical expertise in the new energy sector, contributing to skilled employment and knowledge transfer across the Middle East. Globally, NING SERVICE operates ten training centers, covering 2,300 square meters, and has certified over 9,700 new energy after-sales professionals through vocational partnerships.

Strengthening Partnerships and Ecosystem Integration

CATL is collaborating with local industry players, including fuel network operators, infrastructure companies, and energy firms, to provide green electricity at gas stations, electrify truck fleets, and deploy solar-plus-storage solutions.

Ahmed Ibrahim of Al Drees noted, “We look forward to collaborating with top players like CATL to drive this transition forward.” Lin Chaofan, CEO of F4S, added, “This flagship underscores our shared commitment to sustainable energy solutions in Saudi Arabia.”

A Long-Term Commitment to the Middle East

Bruce Li, CATL President of Quality System, Aftermarket Business, said, “Our Riyadh center is not only a commercial choice but a long-term commitment. It is an ecosystem hub integrating technology, training, and industry collaboration, expanding CATL’s after-sales network in the Middle East and supporting Vision 2030.”

The facility is part of CATL’s global service network, which includes over 1,200 stations in 76 countries and 73 spare-parts warehouses worldwide, supporting more than six million electric vehicles and reinforcing the company’s role in the region’s energy transition.
