Fibocom has showcased its Internet of Things (IoT) connectivity solutions for smart energy, electric mobility and asset tracking at India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2026 in New Delhi. The company’s portfolio highlights the growing role of cellular connectivity in smart metering, EV battery tracking and connected devices as India expands its digital energy infrastructure.
At the event, Fibocom presented applications across wireless broadband, energy management, vehicle connectivity and asset tracking. Its portfolio included 5G modules, customer premises equipment (CPE), outdoor units (ODUs) and mobile Wi-Fi (MiFi) solutions, alongside smart meters, vehicle tracking devices and EV battery trackers.
Fibocom provides 4G connectivity for GridCrest’s smart meter solution developed for the Indian market. The connectivity enables electricity consumption data and device event information to be transmitted through mobile networks to utility management platforms, supporting remote meter reading and monitoring.
The solution highlights the role of cellular communication modules in connecting energy infrastructure and enabling utilities to access meter data remotely. Such applications form part of the broader digitalisation of electricity distribution and energy management systems.
Fibocom also demonstrated connected mobility applications, including EV battery trackers and vehicle tracking devices. These solutions use wireless connectivity to support data transmission and asset monitoring, addressing the connectivity requirements of increasingly digitalised transportation and mobility systems.
The company’s positioning portfolio includes its mass-produced MGB series of Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) modules. Designed for different positioning requirements, the modules include dual-frequency products supporting technologies such as India’s Navigation with Indian Constellation (NavIC) and Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) positioning. Fibocom said its products for the Indian market are being developed with support for local frequency bands and positioning requirements.
Fibocom and Indian IoT original design manufacturer Grid-OS jointly showcased devices for payment and vehicle tracking applications at IMC 2026. The collaboration combines Fibocom’s wireless connectivity technology with Grid-OS’s local product development capabilities to support application-specific device development and deployment.
The company said its work with Indian partners spans payments, energy and asset tracking, with a focus on helping customers move IoT products from development and pilot testing to volume production and large-scale deployment. Fibocom also displayed its MagiCore AI companion solution and AI Dongle, extending its portfolio into edge artificial intelligence applications.
Founded in 1999, Fibocom provides cellular, artificial intelligence, automotive and GNSS modules, along with AI development tools, AI agent solutions, global connectivity and cloud services. Its technologies serve sectors including transportation, retail, robotics, consumer electronics and energy.
The company’s participation at IMC 2026 reflects the expanding use of connected devices across energy infrastructure and electric mobility. For the battery sector, applications such as EV battery tracking and connected energy systems demonstrate how IoT connectivity can support monitoring, data collection and the management of distributed assets.
