GH2 Solar Limited has signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) for a 50 MW solar photovoltaic (PV) project paired with a 25 MW / 100 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS). The agreement was signed on 8 October 2026, marking a step forward in the company’s integrated solar and energy storage portfolio.
The project combines solar generation with battery storage to support more flexible and reliable electricity supply. The storage system’s 25 MW power rating and 100 MWh energy capacity correspond to four hours of storage duration at full rated output.
Project Highlights
- Solar PV capacity: 50 MW
- Battery storage power capacity: 25 MW
- Battery storage energy capacity: 100 MWh
- Offtaker: Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI)
- PPA signing date: 8 October 2026
GH2 Solar said the agreement strengthens its clean energy portfolio by bringing together solar power and battery storage. The company described the PPA as a step towards developing infrastructure that supports India’s energy transition.
The agreement follows GH2 Solar’s participation in SECI’s renewable energy procurement programme. According to industry reporting, the company secured the project in SECI’s auction for 2,000 MW of interstate transmission system (ISTS)-connected solar PV projects paired with 1,000 MW / 4,000 MWh of energy storage, held in October 2025.
The solar-plus-storage configuration combines renewable generation with a battery system that can store electricity and discharge it when required, subject to project operating conditions. Such projects can help address the variability of solar generation and improve the flexibility of renewable power supply.
The PPA adds to India’s growing pipeline of renewable energy projects integrated with battery storage, as developers and power procurers look to combine clean electricity generation with dispatchable energy solutions.
