GREW Solar has secured approval under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s (MNRE) Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) List-II for its 2,407 MW N-Type TOPCon G12R solar PV cell manufacturing capacity at its Narmadapuram facility in Madhya Pradesh. The approval marks an important milestone in the company’s efforts to strengthen domestic solar cell manufacturing and contribute to India’s growing renewable energy ecosystem.
The approval marks a pivotal step in GREW Solar’s commitment to supporting India’s efforts to build a robust domestic solar manufacturing ecosystem. As the country accelerates its clean energy transition, strengthening indigenous solar cell manufacturing capabilities has become essential to enhance energy security, supply-chain resilience, and long-term manufacturing self-reliance.
Solar cells are the core building blocks of photovoltaic modules and play a critical role in determining the efficiency, reliability and long-term performance of solar projects. As India advances towards its renewable energy targets and the vision of Viksit Bharat, the adoption of advanced cell technologies such as N-Type TOPCon technology can play a vital role in enabling higher-efficiency solar solutions and strengthening India’s position in the global solar industry.
Commenting on the development, Vinay Thadani, Director & CEO, GREW Solar, said, “The ALMM List-II approval for our 2.4GW N-Type TOPCon G12R cell manufacturing capacity is an important milestone. It reflects our dedication to advancing India’s solar growth journey and presents a significant opportunity to build world-class production capabilities alongside renewable energy deployment. Our state-of-the-art Solar PV cell manufacturing facility reflects our support for the nation’s vision of a sustainable energy future, technological advancement, and innovation. Strengthening domestic cell production abilities will be necessary for ensuring a robust solar industry for years to come.”
The ALMM framework also plays a vital role in promoting quality, reliability and traceability across India’s solar sector. The inclusion of cell manufacturers under ALMM List-II further supports the development of an integrated solar value chain and provides greater visibility around approved manufacturing capacity.
Through its continued focus on manufacturing excellence and technology-driven growth, GREW Solar remains dedicated to contributing to the country’s ambition of becoming a global hub for renewable energy manufacturing.
