JSW Energy Appoints Sanjay Kumar as Senior VP, Solar Projects

JSW Energy Ltd. has strengthened its leadership team as it expands its utility-scale solar portfolio and renewable energy business with the appointment of Sanjay Kumar as Senior Vice President of Solar Projects.

In his new role, Kumar will supervise the planning, execution, and completion of solar power projects. He will also work closely with the project and business teams to enhance project execution skills and support the company’s long-term clean energy growth objective.

Kumar has more than 20 years of experience across the power and renewable energy sectors, with expertise in project development, engineering, construction management, and operations. Before joining JSW Energy, he held senior leadership positions at Sembcorp Industries, Adani Green Energy, and Jindal Power, where he contributed to the development and execution of large-scale power infrastructure projects spanning both conventional and renewable energy.

Over the course of his career, Kumar has managed multidisciplinary teams and led projects through various stages, including feasibility studies, engineering, construction, commissioning and operations. His experience also includes improving project execution, optimising delivery schedules, and ensuring adherence to quality, safety and sustainability standards across utility-scale energy projects.

As JSW Energy continues to expand its portfolio of renewable energy sources, Kumar is anticipated to have a significant impact on the company’s solar project pipeline and execution capabilities. The hiring is in line with the company’s overarching plan to support India’s ongoing energy transition by developing large-scale renewable power projects and increasing clean energy capacity.
