Marsons Limited has secured a major domestic order worth approximately ₹33.19 crore, including GST, from Vikran Engineering Limited for an NTPC Renewable Energy Project. The contract marks another significant milestone for the company and reinforces its position as a supplier of critical power equipment for India’s rapidly expanding renewable energy sector.
According to a regulatory filing submitted to the stock exchanges, the order has been awarded by Vikran Engineering Limited and is linked to the execution of a renewable energy project being developed under NTPC Renewable Energy Limited. The total contract value stands at ₹33,18,85,730, including applicable taxes.
Under the scope of the contract, Marsons will manufacture and supply various quantities of 17.6 MVA, 8.8 MVA, and 4.4 MVA inverter-duty transformers. The transformers are specified as oil natural air natural (ONAN) cooled, on-circuit tap changer (OCTC), outdoor-type units with aluminium windings, designed to meet the operational requirements of renewable energy installations.
These inverter-duty transformers play a crucial role in renewable energy projects by facilitating efficient power conversion and transmission between generation assets and the grid. Their design enables them to handle fluctuating power output from renewable energy sources while ensuring system reliability and operational efficiency.
The company stated that the order is domestic in nature and is expected to be executed within a period of six months. Timely completion of the project will further strengthen Marsons’ order book and support its business growth in the power infrastructure segment.
Marsons also clarified that neither its promoters nor members of the promoter group have any interest in Vikran Engineering Limited, the entity awarding the contract. Furthermore, the company confirmed that the transaction does not qualify as a related-party transaction under applicable regulations.
The order comes at a time when India is accelerating investments in renewable energy generation and grid infrastructure to achieve its clean energy and decarbonization goals. Large-scale solar and wind projects require reliable transformer solutions to ensure seamless integration with the power grid, creating significant opportunities for domestic equipment manufacturers.
With this latest contract, Marsons continues to strengthen its presence in the renewable energy value chain while demonstrating its capability to deliver specialized transformer solutions for utility-scale projects. The order also reflects growing demand for advanced power equipment as India expands its renewable energy capacity and modernizes its electricity infrastructure.
