NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL), a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy Limited, has issued a tender inviting bids for the supply and installation of wind turbine generators (WTGs) for a large-scale interstate transmission system (ISTS)-connected wind energy project in Karnataka. The proposed project will be located in Davangere district and is planned to have a total capacity of 813 MW, comprising 271 wind turbine generators.
Interested bidders have until July 16, 2026, to submit their proposals.
As per the tender document, the selected contractor will be responsible for the complete execution of the wind turbine package of the project, which includes design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, erection, installation, testing, and commissioning of WTGs having a capacity of 3 MW or higher, and turbines must be listed under the Approved list of models and manufacturers (Wind).
The scope of work extends beyond the supply and installation of turbines. The successful bidder will also be responsible for ensuring the guaranteed performance of the wind power project by deploying the associated systems, including control panels, supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems, and control software.
The contract also includes design, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of unit substations for each wind turbine generator and all related electrical infrastructure required to achieve grid connectivity and support project operations.
To ensure long-term operational reliability, the selected bidder will also provide 10 years of operations and maintenance (O&M) services for the installed wind turbines and unit substations. The O&M period will commence from the date of project commissioning.
The tender requires bidders to furnish a bid security of Rs 1 billion. On the financial eligibility front, participating companies must demonstrate an average annual turnover of at least Rs 10.68 million per MW of the quoted capacity during the last three financial years.
The project forms part of NTPC’s ongoing efforts to expand its renewable energy portfolio and strengthen India’s clean energy infrastructure through large-scale wind power development.
