The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India, has announced the reopening of the National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE) portal for the submission of applications under Para 5 of the Ministry’s Office Memorandum No. 283/63/2025-GRID SOLAR dated May 25, 2026. The move is intended to facilitate the submission of claims related to the protection of investments already made under ALMM List-II.
The ministry had earlier issued the office memorandum following its decision not to extend ALMM List-II beyond June 1, 2026, while providing for the protection of investments already undertaken by eligible renewable energy (RE) power developers. As part of these provisions, interested developers were required to submit all claims and relevant information exclusively through the online portal developed by the National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE) by June 30, 2026. The Ministry had also clarified that no physical applications would be accepted.
In line with the original notification, the NISE portal was closed at midnight on June 30, 2026, after the deadline for receiving new applications seeking exemption from ALMM List-II.
Subsequently, the ministry received requests from stakeholders seeking the re-opening of the portal to enable the submission of pending applications. After examining these requests, the Ministry has decided to reopen the portal and provide an additional opportunity for eligible renewable energy power developers to submit their applications.
The portal will now remain open for the submission of applications until July 23, 2026. Developers who have not yet submitted their claims or supporting information may do so within the extended timeline through the designated online platform.
The Ministry has reiterated that all applications must be submitted through the NISE portal within the revised deadline. No physical applications will be entertained, and only submissions made through the online portal will be considered in accordance with the provisions outlined in the Office Memorandum.
