The Odisha Renewable Energy Development Agency (OREDA) has released bids for the design, engineering, supply, installation, testing, commissioning, and five-year comprehensive maintenance of various grid-connected and off-grid solar assets in Pahadpur village in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district.
The project’s goal, according to the Request for Proposal, is to turn President Droupadi Murmu’s hometown of Pahadpur into a model “Solar Village” as part of a national demonstration programme centred on tribal development driven by renewable energy. The village is intended to be a model powered entirely by renewable energy that may be duplicated in India’s rural and tribal areas.
Rooftop Solar at Important Locations
Installing 16 kW of grid-connected rooftop solar systems across three buildings—a 1 kW system at an Anganwadi centre, a 5 kW system at the SLS Trust Office, and a 10 kW system at the Market Complex—is covered by the tender. A 5 kW rooftop solar system with battery backup for a dispensary is also included.
Additionally, the chosen developer will install 20 solar streetlights rated at 20 W, four solar high-mast lighting systems, four solar mini-mast lighting systems, and 216 solar street lighting systems rated at 50 W throughout public infrastructure, including schools, sports complexes, temples, and community areas. Comprehensive upkeep of all installed assets for five years is also included in the scope.
According to OREDA, site feasibility could result in a 100% change in the project’s total scope.
Project Estimated Cost
The project components are expected to cost INR 8.72 lakh for 16 kW rooftop solar installations, INR 5.25 lakh for a 5 kW rooftop system with battery backup, INR 82.08 lakh for 216 solar streetlights, INR 10.16 lakh for four solar high-mast lighting systems, INR 5.08 lakh for four solar mini-mast lighting systems, and INR 4.30 lakh for 20 W solar streetlights.
A single-stage, two-envelope electronic bidding technique was used to issue the tender under a domestic competitive bidding process. Hard copies of certain technical documentation must be provided by July 13, 2026, while online bids must be submitted by July 12, 2026. On July 14, technical bids will be opened, and later that day, finance bids will be opened.
