Pace Digitek Limited has received a Letter of Intent (LoI) from BSES Rajdhani Power Limited to develop a 57.5 MW / 115 MWh standalone Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Delhi. The project will be implemented under a 12-year Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) model, involving an estimated capital investment of ₹179.4 crore.
The company expects to complete the project within seven months. Under the long-term Battery Energy Storage Service Agreement (BESSA), Pace Digitek will receive a fixed capacity tariff of Rs. 47.05 lakh per MW per year. This will generate annual contracted capacity revenue of approximately Rs. 27.1 crore for the company.
The latest award marks Pace Digitek’s fifth major utility-scale storage project under the BOO/BOOT model. With this addition, the company’s utility-scale BOO/BOOT storage portfolio has increased to 3.32 GWh, strengthening its presence in India’s growing energy storage market.
The BSES project follows the company’s recent order wins in the battery storage segment. In September 2026, Pace Digitek secured an order worth Rs. 488.6 crore from NTPC GE Power Services Private Limited (NGSL) for supplying standalone BESS solutions, along with annual maintenance contract (AMC) and warranty services.
Since the end of the first quarter of FY2027, the Pace Digitek Group has secured additional orders worth Rs. 761 crore across products and projects. These orders have improved the company’s order visibility and supported its expansion across the energy infrastructure sector.
Pace Digitek is developing an integrated energy storage platform covering BESS manufacturing, system integration, equipment supply, engineering, procurement and construction (EPC), and long-term ownership and operation of storage assets. Its energy order book includes BOO, EPC and supply-based projects, with utility-scale battery storage emerging as an increasingly important business segment.
The company plans to strengthen its participation across different storage project models by leveraging its manufacturing capabilities, technology, localisation initiatives and backward integration. These capabilities are expected to support its involvement across the
battery storage value chain, from equipment supply to project development and long-term operations.
India’s expanding renewable energy capacity, rising peak electricity demand and growing requirement for grid flexibility are increasing the need for utility-scale energy storage solutions. Battery storage systems can help manage fluctuations in renewable power generation and support electricity supply during periods of high demand.
Commenting on the development, Venugopalrao Maddisetty, Chairman and Managing Director of Pace Digitek Limited, said the BSES award represents an important milestone for the company’s energy business. He highlighted that the project reinforces its capabilities in BESS manufacturing, project execution and long-term asset operations.
Maddisetty stated that the company would prioritise disciplined project execution, expand its manufacturing capabilities and selectively build a portfolio of contracted energy infrastructure assets to meet the evolving needs of India’s power and renewable energy sector.
