Roofsol Energy has strengthened its commercial and industrial (C&I) renewable energy portfolio by signing rooftop solar Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with Softgel Healthcare and Noble Tech Industries for a combined capacity of 6.1 MWp. The agreements reinforce the growing adoption of rooftop solar among manufacturing companies seeking to lower energy costs and reduce carbon emissions.
The projects will be developed under Roofsol Energy’s OPEX (RESCO) model, enabling both companies to transition to clean energy without making any upfront capital investment. Under this arrangement, Roofsol Energy will finance, design, install, own, operate and maintain the rooftop solar plants, while the customers purchase electricity generated by the systems at a pre-agreed tariff over the tenure of the agreements.
Among the two projects, the larger installation is a 3.8 MWp rooftop solar plant for Noble Tech Industries at its manufacturing facility in Melpakkam, Tamil Nadu. Noble Tech Industries, which recently became part of the OfBusiness Group, will utilize the solar power project to support its sustainability objectives while securing reliable and cost-effective electricity for its operations.
The second agreement covers a rooftop solar installation for Softgel Healthcare, taking the combined capacity of the two PPAs to 6.1 MWp. The project is expected to contribute to the pharmaceutical manufacturer’s clean energy transition by increasing the share of renewable energy in its electricity consumption while helping reduce its overall carbon footprint.
The latest contracts continue Roofsol Energy’s aggressive expansion in India’s industrial rooftop solar segment. Over the past several months, the company has signed multiple long-term PPAs with manufacturers across sectors including automotive, polymers, cement, metals and consumer products. These projects are primarily being executed under the OPEX model, reflecting the increasing preference among industrial consumers for asset-light renewable energy procurement that delivers predictable power costs without significant capital expenditure.
Roofsol Energy has emerged as one of the active developers in the C&I rooftop solar market, offering EPC, independent power producer (IPP), and group captive solutions across India. According to the company, it has commissioned more than 300 MWp of solar capacity through over 250 projects, serving a broad range of industrial and commercial customers.
The new PPAs with Softgel Healthcare and Noble Tech Industries further strengthen Roofsol Energy’s project pipeline while supporting India’s broader transition towards cleaner, more sustainable industrial power consumption.
