Sigenergy Plans 40 GW Manufacturing Facility to Expand India Operations

Sigenergy is advancing its Make in India plans with a proposed 40 GW manufacturing facility, with the first phase of production expected to begin by the second quarter of 2027. The initial phase will focus on commercial and industrial (C&I) and utility-scale energy solutions. In the second phase, the company plans to expand manufacturing to include battery energy storage systems (BESS) and residential hybrid inverters, adding a further 30 GW of capacity.

India represents a strategically important market for Sigenergy as the country transitions from a focus on renewable power generation towards greater energy storage and intelligent energy management. The growing opportunities across residential, Commercial & Industrial and utility-scale segments align with Sigenergy’s integrated energy storage portfolio. The company sees India as a key market for its long-term growth, with plans to build local manufacturing capabilities, expand its partner network and strengthen service infrastructure to support the evolving needs of Indian customers.
Since commencing operations in India in January 2026, the company has focused on building the local ecosystem required to support its long-term growth. It has established its channel partners, set up an experience centre in Mumbai and conducting EPC Connect programmes to strengthen engagement with EPCs, business owners, installers and industry stakeholders. The company also plans to establish six service centres across India to strengthen customer support.
At the Renewable Energy India Expo (REI) 2026, Sigenergy has showcased its latest energy storage innovations, including Sigen Neo, Sigen Cube and Sigen Terra. These solutions address energy management needs across residential, commercial and utility-scale applications, reflecting the company’s focus on integrated, AI-enabled technologies.
Sigen Neo is an all-in-one solar and energy storage solution designed for homes and small commercial establishments. Available in single-phase configurations from 2kW to 6kW and also in three phase configuration from 3kW to 15kW, it integrates solar conversion, battery storage and backup capabilities with AI-enabled energy management to help users optimise energy consumption.
SigenCube is an intelligent, cabinet-style Commercial and Industrial (C&I) Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) that integrates solar power, energy storage and intelligent energy management to optimise energy usage. It enables businesses to store excess solar energy generated during peak production hours and use it when demand is higher, maximising solar self-consumption, reducing reliance on grid electricity, managing peak demand more effectively and improving overall energy efficiency.
SigenTerra is a 6.26 MWh integrated AC & DC, All-in-One Utility Energy Storage System. It combines energy storage and intelligent controls to help optimise renewable power utilisation, supports resilient grid connectivity & stability with Advanced AI powered energy management System. Additionally, the company offers a 5 MWh DC Block Container solution, with support for various configurations to meet the requirements of the Indian market.
Beyond these launches, Sigenergy’s portfolio also includes Sigen Stack for commercial and industrial hybrid energy storage applications. Its broader offering spans solar inverters, battery energy storage systems, EV charging and intelligent energy management solutions, serving residential, commercial and utility-scale markets.
Commenting on the launches, Abhilash Borana, CEO, Sigenergy in India, said, “India is entering an important phase of its renewable energy journey, moving beyond power generation towards energy storage and intelligent energy management. This makes India a strategically important market for Sigenergy, given the opportunities emerging across residential, commercial and utility-scale applications. Alongside bringing advanced technologies to the market, we are investing in our local team, partner network, service infrastructure and manufacturing capabilities to build a strong presence in India. Our product philosophy is centred on being Safe, Intelligent, Green and Efficient, while supporting the vision of a New India. With our entire product range Sigen Neo, Sigen Cube and Sigen Terra, we aim to make energy systems smarter, more flexible and easier to manage, while supporting the country’s evolving energy storage requirements.”
Through its “AI in All” approach, Sigenergy integrates artificial intelligence across its portfolio of solar inverters, battery storage, EV charging and energy management solutions. By combining technology innovation with local investments and ecosystem development, the company aims to contribute to India’s transition towards a smarter, more flexible and resilient renewable energy landscape.
Sigenergy is a technology-driven clean energy company specializing in intelligent energy solutions powered by advanced power electronics, digital technologies and artificial intelligence (AI). With a presence in over 121 countries, its portfolio spans solar inverters, battery energy storage systems (BESS), EV charging solutions and intelligent energy management technologies for residential, commercial and industrial (C&I), and utility-scale applications.
Guided by its “AI in All” strategy, Sigenergy integrates these technologies into a connected energy ecosystem designed to enable intelligent monitoring, energy optimization and efficient system management.
Having entered India in January 2026, Sigenergy is expanding through local partnerships, service capabilities and supply-chain development. The company has established an Experience Centre in Navi Mumbai and is committed to supporting India’s Make in India vision through local manufacturing and long-term investment. Sigenergy is driven by a shared vision of a cleaner future, enabled by continuous innovation in clean energy technology.
