WattPower has received an order from ReNew for the supply of 1 GW of utility-scale solar inverters, strengthening its presence in India’s renewable energy market. The contract includes deliveries of the company’s 330KTL string inverters and its next-generation WP-506KTL grid-forming inverters during the upcoming financial year.
Signed at the Renewable Energy India Expo (REI) 2026 at the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida, the agreement covers two inverter platforms designed to support utility-scale solar projects across varying grid conditions. While the WP-330KTL serves established utility-scale applications, the WP-506KTL brings advanced grid-forming capabilities to solar power generation.
As renewable energy capacity expands, grid stability and the ability to manage changing operating conditions are becoming increasingly important. Grid-forming technology can help solar power systems respond to these requirements, particularly in grids with a growing share of renewable energy.
The agreement reflects the continuing demand for inverter technologies that support large-scale solar deployment while addressing the evolving needs of modern power grids.
Commenting on the agreement, Divya Prakash Choraria, Managing Director of WattPower, said, “We are pleased to take this partnership forward with ReNew. An agreement of this scale reflects the trust both companies have built. With the WP-330KTL and the new WP-506KTL grid-forming inverter, we look forward to supporting ReNew’s upcoming projects and the changing needs of the grid.”
The supplies under the 1 GW agreement are scheduled for the next financial year, the company is covering both inverter models.
