Bluebird Solar has secured a 278 MW solar PV module supply contract from Bridge & Roof Company (India) Ltd. for two utility-scale solar projects being developed by SJVN, further strengthening its presence in India’s growing renewable energy sector.
Under the agreement, the company will supply 600 Wp M10R N-Type TOPCon dual-glass bifacial solar PV modules for a 133 MW solar project at Khavda, Gujarat, and a 145 MW project at Nawa, Rajasthan. While the company has not disclosed the delivery timeline, the order marks another significant addition to its utility-scale project portfolio.
Commenting on the development, Rohit Tikku, Chief Executive Officer of Bluebird Solar, said the order reflects the company’s continued focus on product quality, advanced technology, and timely project execution.
“We are delighted to secure this order from Bridge & Roof Company Ltd. for the SJVN project. As India accelerates its renewable energy transition, we remain committed to delivering high-performance solar PV modules that support large-scale clean energy generation,” Tikku said.
Bluebird Solar currently operates a 2.5 GW fully automated solar PV module manufacturing facility in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, supplying modules for utility-scale, commercial, industrial, and residential solar projects across the country.
To strengthen its manufacturing capabilities, the company is also planning to establish 2.5 GW of solar cell manufacturing capacity, along with wafer and ingot production facilities. These investments are aimed at enhancing domestic manufacturing, improving supply chain resilience, and supporting India’s clean energy ambitions and self-reliance goals.
In addition to expanding its solar manufacturing footprint, Bluebird Solar has announced plans to diversify into the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) segment. The move aligns with the increasing demand for integrated renewable energy and energy storage solutions as India scales up renewable power capacity and grid flexibility.
The latest order further reinforces Bluebird Solar’s position in India’s solar manufacturing industry while highlighting the growing role of domestic manufacturers in supporting large-scale renewable energy projects undertaken by public sector enterprises. As the company expands into battery energy storage alongside its solar manufacturing business, it is positioning itself to serve the evolving needs of India’s clean energy transition.
