Jakson Green Limited, in consortium with Ocior Energy, has signed a Green Ammonia Purchase Agreement (GAPA) with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) under the Strategic Interventions for Green Hydrogen Transition (SIGHT) Programme, part of the National Green Hydrogen Mission (NGHM). The agreement involves the supply of 85,000 tonnes per annum of green ammonia to Coromandel International Limited at its facility in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh.
Agreement Details and Project Background
The contract is estimated to be valued at approximately $465 million over its duration. The consortium secured this capacity through SECI’s sixth green ammonia auction at a tariff of INR 50.75/kg under the SIGHT Scheme (Mode-2A), which ensures assured offtake.
This development follows the Letter of Award (LoA) issued to Jakson Green and its consortium in August 2025 through a competitive bidding process. The supply of green ammonia is expected to commence in 2029, marking a significant milestone in India’s efforts to scale up green hydrogen derivatives.
Supporting Decarbonisation and Energy Transition
The deal is expected to help the fertiliser industry become less carbon-intensive by allowing the use of green ammonia instead of more traditional options. It also fits with India’s larger goal of becoming a global center for green hydrogen and its derivatives, while structured procurement systems help lower costs.
Speaking on the development, Bikesh Ogra, Vice Chairman & Global CEO, Jakson Green, said, “This agreement underscores our commitment to building robust, future-ready green energy solutions at scale. We are proud to be one of the contributors in National Green Hydrogen Mission (NGHM) which has been designed to accelerate India’s transition towards clean energy, strengthen energy security and build domestic capabilities across the green ammonia value chain.”
Expanding Green Hydrogen Portfolio
In addition to this agreement, Jakson Green is strengthening its presence in the green hydrogen and sustainable fuels segment. Through its associate, the company is developing two green hydrogen projects with capacities of 5,000 tonnes per annum each for Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL).
The company is also working on EPC projects for a public sector company that will include facilities for ethanol (10 TPD), carbon capture (25 TPD), and hydrogen (3 TPD). This will strengthen its role in the green molecules ecosystem even more.
