JBM Ecolife, the electric bus division of JBM Auto, has now reached a milestone of over 3,000 electric buses operating across India. This shows that it is helping to make public transportation cleaner and more sustainable across the country. The company’s fleet size has grown past this important number thanks to recent deployments in Delhi and a new order in Gandhinagar.
New Buses Hit Roads in New Delhi
In New Delhi, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta inaugurated 103 new low-floor, air-conditioned electric buses, which were immediately added to the city’s public transport fleet. With this addition, JBM’s electric buses in the capital are now close to 1,000 units, making a significant contribution to reducing emissions and improving urban mobility.
Gandhinagar Expansion Under Government Scheme
Separately, under the Government of India’s PM e-Bus Sewa scheme, JBM Ecolife signed an agreement with Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation to supply 100 electric buses. In the first phase, 40 buses are scheduled for delivery by the end of the 2025–26 financial year. Once delivered, JBM’s operational fleet in Gujarat will be nearly 500 buses.
The buses supplied for Gandhinagar are fully air-conditioned 25-seat vehicles equipped with CCTV cameras, automatic doors, and features to assist senior citizens and differently-abled passengers. They will serve designated city routes with modern charging infrastructure to support seamless operations.
Leadership on Green Mobility Goals
Nishant Arya, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of JBM Auto, said: “This multi-city expansion demonstrates our unwavering focus on building a robust, green mobility ecosystem across India through innovation, quality and smart infrastructure.”
He added that from Delhi to Gandhinagar and other cities, JBM’s solutions are helping transport operators provide safe, comfortable, and sustainable mobility to millions of citizens every day.
Impact So Far and Manufacturing Strength
Over the past five years, JBM electric buses have traveled more than 300 million electric kilometres, served over 1 billion passengers, and helped reduce over 1 billion kilograms of carbon dioxide emissions. These buses are manufactured at JBM’s advanced facility in India, one of the largest electric bus plants in the world outside China, with an annual production capacity of 20,000 buses.
