Jinko ESS, the energy storage division of JinkoSolar, has signed agreements with Romania-based clean energy developer Taliva Energy to deploy 400 MWh of battery energy storage system (BESS) capacity across multiple utility-scale projects in Eastern Europe. The collaboration marks a significant expansion of the companies’ partnership as demand for large-scale energy storage continues to grow across the region.

The planned projects will be developed in Romania and Türkiye, where battery storage is increasingly being integrated into power networks to enhance grid reliability and support the rapid growth of renewable energy. The deployment is expected to improve grid flexibility, facilitate greater integration of solar and wind generation, and strengthen energy resilience as European countries continue to accelerate their clean energy transition.

The 400 MWh portfolio will be rolled out through several utility-scale battery storage projects, reinforcing both companies’ presence in Europe’s expanding BESS market. Jinko ESS will provide advanced energy storage technology, system integration, engineering expertise, project execution, and long-term operational support for the installations.

Battery energy storage systems are playing a critical role in balancing electricity supply and demand, storing excess renewable energy during periods of high generation and supplying power when renewable output declines. As renewable energy capacity continues to increase across Europe, utility-scale storage has become essential for maintaining grid stability and ensuring reliable electricity supply.

The agreement was formalized during Intersolar Europe, one of the world’s leading exhibitions for the solar and energy storage industries. The partnership reflects the increasing collaboration between technology providers and project developers to deliver scalable energy storage infrastructure capable of supporting modern electricity grids.

Taliva Energy is actively expanding its clean energy portfolio across Europe, focusing on renewable energy generation and battery storage projects. The new partnership with Jinko ESS is expected to accelerate the development of utility-scale storage assets that can respond to changing electricity market dynamics and growing demand for flexible grid resources.

For Jinko ESS, the agreement strengthens its footprint in the European energy storage market, where investments in battery storage are rising rapidly due to ambitious renewable energy targets and efforts to improve energy security. The company continues to expand its global presence by supplying integrated battery storage solutions for utility-scale, commercial, and industrial applications.

The companies indicated that the partnership extends beyond the current projects, with plans to continue collaborating on future battery energy storage developments across Europe. As governments and utilities invest heavily in grid modernization and renewable energy integration, large-scale BESS deployments are expected to become an increasingly important component of the region’s energy infrastructure.

The 400 MWh agreement underscores the growing role of battery storage in supporting Europe’s transition toward a cleaner, more reliable, and resilient electricity system.
