Maruti Suzuki India Limited has announced the launch of its nationwide initiative, ‘One India, One EV Charging Platform’, in partnership with 13 charge point operators (CPOs) and aggregators to build a unified and accessible EV-charging ecosystem across the country.
Under this strategic initiative, the company aims to integrate public and private charging networks into a single digital platform, enabling EV users to locate, book and pay for charging services through one common interface. The rollout is designed to eliminate charging complexity while improving nationwide accessibility.
Nationwide charging expansion plan
Maruti Suzuki has already deployed over 2,000 dedicated EV charging stations across its dealership and service network, covering more than 1,100 cities in India. The company now plans to enable access to 100,000 public EV charging points by 2030 under the integrated platform, significantly expanding charging availability across highways, urban centres and residential zones.
The initiative leverages collaboration with multiple CPO partners to aggregate third-party charging assets with Maruti Suzuki’s internal network into a digital ecosystem that delivers a seamless user experience regardless of charging location or provider.
Smart charging platform and features
As part of the rollout, Maruti Suzuki has introduced its EV platform application to provide users with:
- Live charger availability tracking
- Pre-booking facility for charging points
- Digital payments through UPI and wallet services
- Integrated public and home-charging control
- Unified customer support system
The platform supports both AC and DC charging infrastructure and is designed to be compatible with multiple EV models and charging standards.
Infrastructure readiness and workforce support
To bolster the charging overdrive, Maruti Suzuki has reportedly trained more than 150,000 service professionals across its dealer network to handle EV servicing and charging ecosystem requirements. In addition, over 1,500 workshops across India are now EV-ready, offering end-to-end support from vehicle servicing to onsite charging solutions.
Demonstration drive validates real-world feasibility
To showcase the network’s readiness, Maruti Suzuki flagged off a long-distance EV expedition, covering India’s four corners — Srinagar, Kanyakumari, Bhuj and Dibrugarh — to demonstrate the real-world charging capability of its ecosystem. The drive is intended to reinforce consumer confidence and showcase the reach and reliability of the charging network.
A major leap for India’s EV market
Industry observers view this initiative as one of the most comprehensive approaches to EV infrastructure development by any automaker in India. By combining digital integration with strategic partnerships, physical infrastructure and workforce preparation, Maruti Suzuki is positioning itself as a central enabler of India’s electric mobility transition.
The company believes that easier access, uniform standards and digital convenience will play a critical role in removing adoption barriers and driving market confidence toward mass EV adoption.
