SPML Infra has secured a contract worth ₹165.41 crore from Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited for the development of a 400 kV grid substation project in Rajasthan. The project, located at Dahra in Kota district, is aimed at strengthening the state’s power transmission infrastructure and supporting the growing integration of renewable energy into the grid.
The scope of the project includes the design, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of a 400 kV grid substation along with associated transmission infrastructure. The project will feature a 500 MVA autotransformer bay, a 420 kV shunt reactor bay, feeder bays, tie bays, as well as related civil works, automation, and communication systems. The execution timeline for the project is estimated at 18 months.
According to the company, Rajasthan’s expanding renewable energy capacity has created a rising demand for robust transmission networks capable of efficiently evacuating and distributing power across the state. The new substation is expected to play a key role in enhancing grid stability and improving transmission reliability.
Commenting on the development, Abhinandan Sethi, Managing Director of SPML Infra, said the order reinforces the company’s commitment to strengthening India’s energy infrastructure through advanced and reliable transmission solutions.
The latest contract adds to SPML Infra’s growing portfolio in the power infrastructure sector, which includes projects related to substations, transmission systems, water infrastructure, and battery energy storage systems (BESS) across India.
