SWELECT Energy Systems Limited, a prominent name in India’s renewable energy market, has officially refreshed its brand identity. The company revealed a new corporate logo and a forward-looking tagline: “Powering the World Responsibly.”
Alongside this rebranding, SWELECT announced the launch of NUMERGY, a new line of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) designed to provide consistent, 24/7 power for homes and businesses.
A New Chapter for a Trusted Legacy
The rebranding marks a major shift for the company, which originally gained fame as Numeric Power Systems. While the company has long been a leader in solar and wind energy, the new look reflects its evolution into a provider of integrated, “round-the-clock” renewable energy solutions.
Mr. R. Chellappan, Founder and Vice Chairman of SWELECT, explained the meaning behind the change:
“Our new identity reflects how far we have come and where we are headed. From building dependable power solutions under Numeric to focusing on clean energy through SWELECT, our core values remain the same reliability, responsibility, and trust. ‘Powering the World Responsibly’ aptly captures our belief that growth and sustainability must go hand in hand.”
Introducing the NUMERGY Portfolio
The newly launched NUMERGY range is designed to solve the problem of power consistency. By combining solar power with advanced battery storage, the system ensures that clean energy is available even when the sun isn’t shining.
The portfolio features three main categories:
- NUMERGY Home: Targeted at the residential market, specifically supporting initiatives like the PM Surya Ghar Yojana.
- NUMERGY Hybrid: Built for areas with unreliable grids, allowing users to run almost entirely off-grid.
- NUMERGY High Performance: Tailored for industrial and commercial users, such as hospitals and factories, to reduce electricity costs and reliance on diesel generators.
Strategic Growth and Investment
The company is backing this new direction with a Rs. 150 crore investment to double its solar module production capacity in Coimbatore to 2 GW. According to CEO Arulkumar Shanmugasundaram, battery storage is now “central to the future of reliable and resilient power,” and this expansion positions SWELECT to lead India’s transition toward energy independence.
