The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (Yeida) has issued a letter of intent to Neenjas Electric for the allotment of a 20,000 square metre industrial plot in Sector 8D, officials said on Saturday. The allotment marks another addition to the rapidly developing electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing cluster near the upcoming Noida International Airport.
Officials said the proposed facility will focus on the manufacturing of on-board EV chargers and solar power banks, aimed at strengthening the domestic supply chain for high-capacity power electronics and renewable energy storage systems. The project is expected to support India’s growing electric mobility ecosystem and clean energy ambitions.
The letter of intent was formally handed over by Yeida Chief Executive Officer Rakesh Kumar Singh to Neenjas Electric Managing Director Vineet Gupta on Friday, officials confirmed.
According to officials, the Sector 8D location offers strategic advantages, including close proximity to the Noida International Airport and seamless access to expressway-linked logistics infrastructure, making it well suited for advanced manufacturing operations.
Neenjas Electric plans to develop products catering to two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and light commercial vehicles, with a focus on high IP-rated on-board chargers and advanced solar power bank systems designed specifically for Indian operating and climatic conditions, officials added.
Commenting on the development, Yeida CEO Rakesh Kumar Singh said, “The Yamuna Expressway region is being developed as a key destination for EV and allied manufacturing. Such projects are expected to contribute to local employment generation and support India’s clean energy transition.” He added that the project is expected to involve an investment of around ₹169 crore.
Officials noted that over the past few years, Yeida has been actively promoting the Yamuna Expressway area as a hub for electric mobility, renewable energy, and advanced manufacturing, leveraging large land parcels, connectivity infrastructure, and proximity to the upcoming international airport.
The allotment to Neenjas Electric further strengthens the region’s emerging position as a manufacturing and innovation corridor for EV and clean energy technologies, officials said.
