Jakson Green E-Mobility has emerged as the winning bidder in a tender issued by Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL) to deploy and operate 220 electric buses across three cities in Gujarat under the Government of India’s PM-eBus Sewa Programme. The project will be executed under a 12-year Gross Cost Contract (GCC), covering vehicle procurement, deployment, operation, maintenance and associated charging infrastructure.
The deployment will include 120 electric buses in Vadodara, 80 in Gandhidham and 20 in Navsari. All 220 vehicles will be nine-metre, air-conditioned electric buses.
Under the contract, Jakson Green E-Mobility will oversee the procurement and deployment of the electric bus fleet, along with its operation and maintenance throughout the 12-year contractual period.
The company’s responsibilities will also include developing, operating and maintaining the charging infrastructure required to support the buses across all three cities.
The tender result was announced on October 26, 2026, less than a year after Jakson Green E-Mobility began its e-mobility operations. The manufacturer of the 220 electric buses has not been disclosed.
The project falls under the PM-eBus Sewa Programme, a Government of India initiative aimed at expanding electric bus deployment in urban public transportation. CESL has facilitated several large-scale electric bus procurement programmes through aggregated demand and long-term contractual arrangements.
In 2022, CESL conducted a tender for 5,450 electric buses under its Grand Challenge initiative.
In June 2025, the agency launched a tender for 10,900 electric buses under the PM E-DRIVE programme, covering Bengaluru, Delhi, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad and Surat.
In January 2026, CESL issued another tender covering 6,230 electric buses under PM E-DRIVE and Delhi’s public transport programme. The procurement included 2,900 buses under PM E-DRIVE Tender-II and 3,330 buses for Delhi, with provisions for depot electrification, charging infrastructure and long-term operations.
Other contracts awarded under the CESL procurement framework include an order for 840 electric buses secured by Switch Mobility from Antony Road Transport Solutions for deployment in Delhi. Switch Mobility also received an order for 650 electric buses from Sai Green Projects for deployment in Mumbai and Pune.
In March 2026, EKA Mobility and GreenCell Mobility received a Letter of Award for 915 electric buses in Hyderabad. The project comprises 100 nine-metre buses and 815 twelve-metre standard-floor, non-air-conditioned buses.
Jakson Green E-Mobility’s activities include electric bus and commercial vehicle fleet deployment, charging infrastructure development, operations and lifecycle maintenance.
The Gujarat project expands the company’s electric mobility operations through a long-term contract covering 220 electric buses and the associated charging infrastructure across Vadodara, Gandhidham and Navsari.
