Maxvolt ReEarth Sets 6R Roadmap for India’s Circular EV Battery Economy

Maxvolt ReEarth Private Limited, the battery-recycling subsidiary of Maxvolt Energy Industries Limited, has published a groundbreaking research paper in the International Journal of Environmental Sciences. The study introduces a comprehensive “6R” framework designed to establish a highly sustainable and circular electric vehicle (EV) battery ecosystem across India.

The paper is titled “A 6R-Based Circular EV Battery Supply Chain in India: Technology Roadmap and Insights from MaxVolt ReEarth” and is written by the leading experts in the field, Vishal Gupta, Payal Jain, and Nitesh Singh. This research paper has come at an important point in time since India is shifting toward EVs at a rapid pace, putting pressure on natural resources as well as showing gaps in its supply chain.

Founded in 2019, Maxvolt Energy Industries Limited began as a lithium-ion battery-pack manufacturer for electric vehicles and has since expanded into energy storage and circular battery solutions. The company was listed on the NSE SME Emerge platform in 2025 and established Maxvolt ReEarth in January 2026 as its dedicated recycling subsidiary. Its expansion reflects a broader move from battery manufacturing toward a more integrated battery lifecycle ecosystem, including battery recovery, recycling, and material reuse.

The core of the research details a structured roadmap focusing on six essential pillars:

  • Reduce: Cutting down on raw material dependencies during production.
  • Reuse: Repurposing batteries for secondary applications like grid storage.
  • Repair: Fixing minor defects to keep batteries in service longer.
  • Refurbish: Restoring battery packs to optimal operating conditions.
  • Remanufacture: Rebuilding components to original performance standards.
  • Recycle: Extracting critical materials safely at the end of their lifecycle.

By maximising value retention at every stage of the battery lifecycle, this ecosystem directly reduces industrial waste and limits environmental harm.

The organisation is actively translating this research into real-world infrastructure. The company is building an advanced battery-recycling plant in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, which will be capable of processing 7,800 metric tonnes of spent batteries every year.

Addressing the research paper, one of the authors, Vishal Gupta, Co-Founder & Director, commented, “Recycling and resource management cannot be an afterthought. This 6R roadmap is our vision for a self-reliant India. By sharing these insights with the global scientific and industrial community, we want to build a truly circular clean energy economy”.

With the global EV battery market rapidly expanding, Maxvolt ReEarth’s published blueprint sets a strong benchmark for responsible manufacturing and net-zero energy storage.

Nitesh Singh, Research Engineer, added, “The 6R framework highlights the strength that innovation and lifecycle management can offer to India’s EV battery ecosystem. We hope this research supports the shift within the industry towards more sustainable and resource-efficient practices.”

Payal Jain, Chief Technology Officer, further said, “Sustainability at every stage is required if we want to build a circular battery economy. This research offers a practical roadmap to improve resource recovery and aligns with India’s clean mobility goals.”

Maxvolt ReEarth Private Limited is dedicated to creating a sustainable, closed-loop energy storage ecosystem. Through intelligent battery repurposing, clean recycling technologies, and advanced safety management systems, the company works to minimise ecological footprints while empowering India’s clean mobility sector.

The Maxvolt ReEarth 6R EV Battery Supply Chain framework provides a practical pathway for reducing waste, improving resource recovery, and extending the useful life of EV batteries in India. By combining reuse, repair, remanufacturing, and recycling, Maxvolt ReEarth is helping strengthen the circular economy and support the country’s clean-mobility and energy-transition goals.
