SJVN has invited bids to select Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) developers to establish 265 MW/530 MWh standalone Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) in Haryana under the Viability Gap Funding (VGF) scheme through tariff-based competitive bidding. The Request for Selection (RfS) has been issued under RfS No. SJVN/CC Delhi/REIA/2026/BESS-2, with Tender Search Code (TSC) SJVN-2026-TN000001.

The tender aims to select eligible BESS developers for standalone projects that enhance grid stability, integrate renewable energy, and strengthen Haryana’s power infrastructure. The projects shall be implemented under the Viability Gap Funding (VGF) Scheme, which aims to promote investment in the energy storage infrastructure through financial support and thus enable competitive tariff discovery.

As per the tender notification, the Notice Inviting Tender (NIT) has been floated on 24 July 2026, and the last date of submission of bids is 21 August 2026. The tender is being managed from Delhi, and interested developers need to submit their bids within the stipulated time as per the terms and conditions mentioned in the RfS document.

This tender is for the development of a total battery energy storage capacity of 265 MW/530 MWh in Haryana, another major milestone in expanding India’s energy storage ecosystem. Deployment of standalone BESS projects under the initiative is expected to improve the grid’s flexibility, improve the reliability of renewable power integration, and support the country’s broader clean energy transition.
